72 years old, of Gautier, MS, entered eternal life Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2009, in the Ocean Springs Hospital. He was born in Raleigh (Jones County), MS, on May 2, 1937, to the late Horase LeeRoy and Flonnie Jordan.
Red was a hard working, family man; was of the Baptist faith; worked in asphalt excavation and construction; and lived along the gulf coast for most of his adult life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Jordan; brother, John Wesley “JW” Jordan; and sister, Madgelene Easterlind.
Red is survived by his loving wife of 29-years, Mary Lou Mefford Jordan, of Gautier, MS. Children, Daniel Clark (Sandra), Jeanna Ridgdell (Rocky), Travis Clark (Melissa), Melinda Susan Clark, and Jimmy Dwayne Jordan, all of MS; Laura Mae Nellos (John) of NM; Jennie Gwen Whiteaker (James), and Beverly Tarket, both of Texas. Brothers, Horase Jordan Jr. and Billy Jordan. Sister, Ouida Parker. Sixteen grandchildren, April (Tylor), Justin, Harry, Jennifer (Brian) , Micah, Amy, Tyler, Galen, Zoe, Brittney, Alec, Elijah, Jimmy, Jessica, Sean, and Eric. Seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 1:00 pm, in the Chapel of Coastal Funeral Home, with Brother Daniel Clark, of Refuge Baptist Church in Ocean Springs officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens.
